Our story

Artists ourselves, we honor the creation of something that has never been before. We want to help artists see the possibilities in their creations.

Toni Gates and Jennie Hanna are lifelong Kansas Citians. Toni is a visual artist, singer, and music educator. A professional grant writer for 30 years, she previously owned a home building company. Jennie is a communications professional with 35 years' experience in health care, cybersecurity and entrepreneurship. She's passionate about community, art, and people.

Our inspiration

Athena led armies that fought for just causes. In times of peace, she taught the residents of Athens 'the fine and useful arts.' As the goddess of wisdom, she created for the city its most versatile gift: an olive tree branching from the crevice of a rock. The tree was the first of many that would come to enrich the Athenians with olives, oil, and wood.

 

Under her leadership, Athenians grew famous for their arts and crafts.
